Wake Up
You know those firm beams of light that seem so ferocious
Precocious and virile they are as they pierce through those clouds.
The light just ripping those drab particles of moisture
To hoister the earths surface while removing its shrouds
My lids blazed maroon orange yellow then white
To invite me into the day as my eyes opened
I was yanked by a hearty tuft of my hair
By the glare my eyes thinned while my dreams came to an end
I woke up thinking this is a morning still proper
Still a blur I sloughed my sheets like burdensome clouds
Due partially by the dogmatism of routine
Unforeseen are the pleasures lost to appealing crowds
A voice came through the radio speaker
These words he said with inflection
“My loves travailing muscles grow weaker
My succoring look shows my conviction
I’ll ask her to come closer for a dance
Our loving thoughts combine when our heads unite
I’ll request a kiss and given a chance
She’ll grant me permission with lips drawn tight
I stood proudly beside her at this time
Although she has lost her ability
For passion she’s restricted me in mind
And her love grows to stiff hostility
The heart to warm her she’s left there to ache
After steeling all there was left to takeâ€
My thoughts began to flutter and jump and leapt my frame
Never tame and to quick to catch they could not be caged
Those same active thoughts possessed a waltz of fame
The acclaim would come after they have been center staged
I thought to myself and all my feelings concurred
So secured is my happiness where purpose resides
Today was going to be a good day all along
While my song and my ripples grew to tides
