Hector's Babe

The guards marched up the tallest tower
and threw the brick quick
straight down. all bundled that
brick tumbled through the air.
and we all watched. So serious i watched and welled
tear for tear down my soft cheek.
we could still laugh at things
that were not quite sane but that
brick kept blazing towards the street.
The guards were harbored. They safely stood
so proud to carry out their duty.
that brick, that babe hit so hard
and cracked. What had he done?
the brick, that babe tumbled no more
but bled on the burning streets while
his mother shed tear after tear on her
soft cheek.
