Sagacious Moon
As Queen of the sky, moon,
You sit perched up high.
The winter air makes you appear crisp.
With the rest of man I wish to tie and bring you nearer.
You rein your kingdom while I look up at you
And become mesmerized by your poise.
I beg you to change for no one.
A construct of conformity.
As time drips off you obey. You stay
With all those stars that want to keep you close
While you try to imitate them.
As time drips off, you stay. You obey
And hover over this abandoned earth
As all American dreams are beaten.
Complacent.
Oh sagacious moon remain forever in the sky.
Never allow the great sun to
Break through and perhaps the
Forget-me-nots will never die.
Serendipitous, moon.
Stay with me to discuss and kill that one,
The changing sun. Feed not from its rays.
Keep still. Silent. Man nor moon was meant for greatness.
[Inconsistent] sun,
Believe me please, neither man nor moon was
Meant for the piercing of the fierce brightness you give.
Self-sufficiency and contentment are dreams I distrust.
They are delusions. Constructed
Panels of confusion, veiling done
To this consecration. Moon, behold me
As I hold you on a shield of solidarity.
As time drips off you obey. You stay
With all those stars that want to keep you close
While you try to imitate them.
As time drips off, you stay. You obey
And hover over this abandoned earth
As all American dreams are beaten.
Keep back sun, we are in numbers now.
Keep back and hold your passionate rays.
Keep still moon. Stay with your rising ground
I implore you; resist the suns way.
Hold tight and persevere moon.
Those beams cannot endure forever.
Hesperus or Phosphorus it is your choice morning star.
Do not waver towards Phoebus,
But keep still with me in this darkness forever.
