Songs
I live in a mine town man
With men who served in all
Sorts of states of struggle.
If you seek wars cynic he's here,
Here in the club.
Bocce ball in hand.
Talking about the screaming
Torpedoes of a Howitzer
That broke early
Busting ears.
I can hear okay though.
I can hear the pain
When the news
Reports more
Wives losing husbands.
Now father-less-children
Losing friends.
I can look around at these men
That have been through more
Destructive war than I
Could read about
In a lifetime.
They are strong and they sing
A melody of resilience and
Gratitude for life.
I can still hear
In their voices
That no man should
Die tune.
